“I am reiterating the call by Governor Godwin Obaseki, urging citizens to come out and get vaccinated. I have taken the first jab and the second one will be in June.”
“This vaccine was approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for use and there is nothing to be afraid of. Edo has the best hands on ground to attend to residents. So, I will urge others to take the vaccine and protect themselves,” he added.
Speaking after four days of taking the vaccine, the state coordinator of the World Health Organization (WHO), Mrs. Faith Ireye, reiterated that AstraZeneca is safe and effective for emergency use.
“The vaccine is of quality and I encourage everyone to take it. I want to also call on the other frontline workers to take the vaccines. The elderly should also take advantage of this vaccination period; it’s safe.”
On his part, Edo State Covid-19 Incident Manager, Dr Andrew Obi, who was vaccinated five days ago, said he is feeling great and healthy.
“I see my vaccination as part of my civil and public responsibility to help in cutting the chain of the spread of the pandemic. I want to reiterate that the AstraZeneca vaccine that was deployed to Nigeria is safe and effective.”
