Oyedepo to Nigerian Youth: Take Responsibility to Avoid Future Failure

Chancellor of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, Bishop David Oyedepo, has charged Nigerian youth to take full responsibility for their lives in order to secure a successful future.

Oyedepo, who is also the President of Living Faith Church International, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Ota.

The cleric stressed that responsibility remains the price for greatness, adding that no one is a failure except they begin to look for who to blame for their challenges.

“Responsibility is the price of every great destiny. Nobody is a failure until he or she looks for whom to blame for it,” he said.

He warned that anyone who refuses to take responsibility early in life risks becoming a liability later on.

“If you fail or succeed in life, it is your choice. There is no star without a scar and the scar of every star is sacrifice. When you leave your life to chance, you do not have a chance,” he added.

Oyedepo further urged young people to imbibe integrity as a lifestyle, noting that a lack of character diminishes the value of any individual.

He maintained that the world is looking up to the younger generation and charged them not to disappoint the great future ahead of them.
