Ifeanyi Udeze, former Super Eagles defender, has said that Victor Osimhen might be feeling a little bit of pressure to score goals at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.
However, Udeze believes that Osimhen is a fantastic player, and his confidence level might have dropped due to a few missed opportunities.
The Napoli striker has scored one goal in three matches for Nigeria and has missed several good chances to score.
Nonetheless, with his talent and skill, there is no doubt that Osimhen will soon find his rhythm and help his team succeed in the tournament.
“For me, Osimhen is under pressure; that’s why he is trying everything possible to score,” Udeze told Brila FM.
“The pressure is affecting him and I think his confidence level has dropped a little bit whenever he faces the opponent goalpost, so he needs to get his confidence back.”
This weekend, Nigeria will take on Cameroon in the AFCON round of 16, and Osimhen will be eager to showcase his goal-scoring skills.
