This follows a report on the purported withdrawal of the three military juntas. It should be noted that ECOWAS remains committed to restoring constitutional rule in these countries.

The sub-regional bloc has been actively working towards ensuring a peaceful and democratic transition in the affected nations, and it will continue to do so until the situation is resolved.

The statement underscores the importance of adherence to democratic principles and respect for the rule of law in the region.

“The ECOWAS Commission is yet to receive any direct formal notification from the three Member States about their intention to withdraw from the Community.

“The ECOWAS Commission, as directed by the Authority of Heads of State and Government, has been working assiduously with these countries for the restoration of constitutional order.
