Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has warned England manager Gareth Southgate, expressing concern over the frustration of Jude Bellingham amidst the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament.
Rooney’s remarks come as England prepares to face Slovakia in the last-16 clash of Euro 2024 scheduled for Sunday.
“Jude starts the first game well but I’m sure he’d tell you himself he has not had the best games in the last two games,” Rooney said on the BBC’s Football Daily podcast.
“For me, he looked very frustrated, I have been there exactly the position he’s in, even the game yesterday, you saw him throwing his arms up in the air.”
Southgate has expressed his intention to have a private conversation with Bellingham to maximize the potential of the Real Madrid player before England’s upcoming match against Slovakia.
Despite his talent, Bellingham has only managed to score one goal in the Euro 2024 tournament thus far.
