In accordance with constitutional provisions, the National Assembly has established a joint committee comprising members from both the Senate and the House of Representatives. This committee is tasked with monitoring and overseeing the operations and governance in Rivers State throughout the duration of the emergency.

In addition to these actions, the Senate has also made a resolution to form a mediation committee. This committee will be composed of distinguished and respected Nigerian figures, whose role will be to facilitate dialogue and aid in the resolution of the ongoing political crisis that has engulfed Rivers State.
