Nollywood actress and filmmaker Etinosa Idemudia has expressed deep frustration and heartbreak after her latest movie, Secret Keeper, was taken down from YouTube following a copyright complaint.
The actress, who is popularly known as Etinosa, shared her ordeal in an emotional Instagram post on Monday, revealing she had invested “years of dreaming, months of work, sleepless nights” and significant personal resources into the project.
According to her, the takedown was initiated by a channel identified as Diamond Films, whom she accused of making a false and malicious claim.
Etinosa wrote:
“I just got the most painful notification ever. My film — Secret Keeper that I poured my ideas, my money, time, and sweat, and every piece of my heart into — was unfairly taken down by someone who has no right to claim it.
‘Diamond Films’, I don’t know who you are, and I’m dying to know why you will do such a wicked thing to me.”
She described the removal as a “cruel” blow, noting that the movie represented her dedication and passion, not just another upload.
Despite the setback, the actress vowed to challenge the claim and restore the movie.
“I want you all to know this isn’t the end. I’m fighting to get our movie back,” she added.
“Your support is the only thing keeping me going right now… No matter how hard this gets, I won’t stop. This film will come back, so help me God.”
Fans, colleagues, and supporters have since flooded her page with words of encouragement as she works on resolving the dispute with YouTube.
