Uganda’s Health Minister Jane Aceng has denied reports that top government officials have been vaccinated against Covid-19 before the country formally receives vaccines.
Reacting to the report by the local newspaper Daily Monitor and American newspaper Wall Street Journal, the health minister said the president and other top government official have not been vaccinated as alleged.
The minister debunked the allegation via the ministry of health official twitter verified handle.
“I want to categorically state that neither President Museveni nor his inner circle has been vaccinated against Covid-19,” the minister said.
The country is expecting to receive donations of 100,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from India and another 300,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine from China but the delivery date are yet to be announced by the government.
