In preparation for the Super Eagles’ 2023 Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 match against Cameroon, head coach Jose Peseiro has announced that he will not be deviating from his trusted 3-4-3 formation.

Although Peseiro initially used a 4-3-3 formation in the team’s opening match against Equatorial Guinea, he has since opted for a 3-4-3 formation in the last two games against Cote d’Ivoire and Guinea-Bissau.
Peseiro is confident in the success of his 3-4-3 formation and believes that there is no need to change a winning strategy.
However, he did note that his players need to focus on their finishing and improve their skills in that area.
As they prepare to face Cameroon, the Super Eagles will be working hard to refine their techniques and ensure they are in top form for the upcoming match.
“I saw statistics yesterday, we created the highest number of chances in the group stage,” Peseiro told a press conference on Friday.
“If we create chances, then why do we need to change our style of play. Our team is playing well, we don’t need to change our strategy.
“What we need to do is start converting our chances. That’s what has been lacking for us.
“I think at times you can create less chances and score more goals. We hope things will improve for us in this aspect tomorrow.
“We want to score and win. It is important to defend well like we have been doing since the start of the competition.”
The Super Eagles will face the Indomitable Lions at Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Saturday. The match will kick off at 9 pm Nigerian time.
