The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced the dissolution of the State Executive Council and the termination of the employment of all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants with immediate effect.

The Governor assumed the position after the demise of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who passed away on December 27, 2023, after a prolonged illness while receiving treatment at a German hospital.
In his announcement, Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed his gratitude to the outgoing members of the State Executive Council and their teams for their service to the state.
He also thanked the Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants for their contributions and wished them well in their future endeavours.
Furthermore, the family of the late Governor has announced that his funeral rites will take place from February 15 to February 25 in Ibadan, Akure, and Owo.
The funeral rites will be a celebration of the life of Governor Akeredolu and his contributions to the state.
It is expected to be attended by dignitaries, friends, and family members from across the country.
The dissolution of the State Executive Council and the termination of the employment of Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants is expected to pave the way for the appointment of new officials who will work with the Governor to continue the development and growth of Ondo State.
