The main ‘Extinction Level Event’ record was delivered in 1998 while the spin-off is Busta’s first full-length exertion since 2012’s ‘Time of the Dragon.’
“There’s just a whole lot of craziness going on,” Busta said. “But ultimately, this album is the embodiment of trying to inform people and try to empower people and try to remind people that you do have the ability to grow and nurture and nourish yourself and feed yourself and who you affect directly and indirectly to be greater – and also unwind sometimes and be able to remember that we still have to — we still have to live.”
“We still gotta laugh. We still got to learn. We still got to love. That’s important. That’s the recharge part.”
On Thursday, Busta Rhymes released the single, ‘Look Over Your Shoulder’ featuring Kendrick Lamar. Its accompanying lyric video finds the two rappers trading verses over a sample of Jackson 5’s ‘I’ll Be There.’
