This strategic move is expected to make irrigation much more affordable for farmers and boost agricultural productivity in Kebbi State.
The gathering well received the announcement, and it is expected to have a positive impact on the agricultural sector of the state.
“The Kebbi State Government, in collaboration with the Federal Government, has concluded arrangements to supply petrol to farmers for dry season farming free of charge,” declared Governor Idris.

As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to provide petroleum to farmers, which is expected to bolster their farming activities.
In addition to providing petroleum, Governor Nasiru Idris also announced plans to distribute 12,000 solar-powered water pumps to farmers in the state. Out of the 12,000 units, 6,000 have already been distributed to increase crop yields.
The state government is also set to purchase 20,000 units of compressed natural gas-powered water pumps as a backup to the solar pumps, to increase the number of benefiting farmers in the state.
These initiatives are aimed at ensuring that farmers in the state have access to the necessary resources to increase their productivity and improve their livelihoods.
