Abia Govt Seals Tinubu Campaign Office in Umuahia Over Tax Law Violation

The Abia State Government has sealed a campaign office belonging to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Partners (RHP) in Umuahia, the state capital, over alleged violation of tax regulations.

The RHP—President Tinubu’s political mobilisation structure in the South East championed by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu—was reportedly shut down without prior notice.

An RHP official, who declined to be named, told Vanguard that he arrived for work on Monday morning to find the building sealed by state authorities.

A notice pasted by officials of the Ministry of Lands and Housing on the office, located on Ojike Street, stated that the property contravened Sections 41 and 100 of the Abia State Tax Law (Codification and Consolidation), Law No. 7 of 2020.
