
Only Buhari has the power to sacks service chiefs – Presidency replies senate
President Muhammadu Buhari has told the Senate that the appointment or sack of service chiefs is a presidential right.
The president said this because of a movement moved by legislators on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, encouraging service chief to step down so new ones can be designated.
The movement was raised by Senator Ali Ndume who communicated worries about human misfortunes being endured by troops of the Armed Forces particularly those battling fear based oppressors and crooks in numerous regions of the northern.

The presidency made this announcement hours after Tuesday’s resolution, Buhari said the choice is up to him.
“The Presidency notes today’s Senate resolution, and reiterates that appointment or sack of Service Chiefs is a Presidential prerogative. President Buhari, in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, will do what is in the best interest of the country at all times,” the statement read.
