As early as 8 a.m. on Saturday, the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba — venue of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2025 National Convention — had already transformed into a beehive of activities as party loyalists trooped into the arena in large numbers.
A heavy presence of security operatives was observed at strategic points around the stadium to maintain law and order as preparations intensified.
This massive turnout comes despite Thursday’s ruling by a Federal High Court in Abuja ordering the party to halt the convention. The judicial pronouncement, however, appears to have had little effect on the enthusiasm of party supporters, who continued to pour into the venue.
Vanguard reports that delegates and supporters from the South-East, North, and South-West arrived in Ibadan on Friday and have since secured accommodation in various hotels across the metropolis.
More details shortly.
