Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the resignation of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Davido posted the news on his X page on Tuesday with a short caption, “Jeje…”, a remark many interpreted as a call for calm and restraint amid growing political tension in the state.
Governor Adeleke’s exit from the PDP became public late Monday following a resignation letter dated November 4, 2025, addressed to the Chairman of Ward 2, Ede North.
In the letter titled “Resignation of my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)”, the governor cited ongoing leadership crises within the party as the reason for his decision.
He wrote:
“Due to the current crisis of the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party with immediate effect.
“I thank the People’s Democratic Party for the opportunities given to me for my elections as a Senator (Represented Osun West) and as Governor of Osun State under the People’s Democratic Party.”
Governor Adeleke’s departure has sparked widespread political debate as stakeholders await his next move.
