A man who identified himself as a former pastor of the Living Faith Church International, popularly known as Winners Chapel, has claimed he was sacked by the church for not generating enough money in his branch.
Peter Godwin said he began working for the church in August 2020 then got a letter on July 1, 2021, telling him and 40 other pastors that their service as pastors was no longer needed.
He said when he asked the reason for the sack, he “was told by the management that the church doesn’t operate at a loss.”
He added: “They also told me the total income that is being generated from my station should be able to cater for my welfare and accommodation, so as a result of low income, I’m hereby dismissed.”
A copy of the sack letter explained that he was sacked because his “Church growth index falls below expectations. ”
