The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dispatched official certificates of expulsion to 11 former members recently removed from the party, according to its new National Chairman, Tanimu Turaki, SAN.
Turaki, who briefed journalists on Tuesday, said the certificates were sent to the affected individuals via courier, explaining that the documents would serve as formal proof that they are no longer members of the PDP.
List of expelled members who received certificates:
-
Nyesom Wike, Minister of the FCT
-
Ayo Fayose, former Governor of Ekiti State
-
Senator Samuel Anyanwu, former PDP National Secretary
-
Umaru Bature
-
Kamarudeen Ajibade, SAN
-
Abdurahman Muhammad
-
Senator Mao Ohuabunwa
-
Austin Nwachukwu
-
Abraham Amah Nnanna
-
George Turna
-
Chief Dan Orbih
Turaki said the move aligns with Nigerian laws, which prohibit dual membership of political parties.
“Now that they are no longer members of our party, and since the National Convention—which is our highest decision-making organ—has expelled them, we decided to issue certificates of expulsion. This will allow them to register with other political parties without accusations of belonging to more than one party,” he said.
He displayed copies of the certificates to journalists and confirmed that originals had already been dispatched, with some recipients expected to have received theirs.
