The British heavyweight title showdown between Frazer Clarke and Jeamie ‘TKV’ Tshikeva exploded into life on Friday as both fighters clashed during a fiery weigh‑in in Derby.
Clarke tipped the scales at 19st 4lb (123kg) while TKV came in slightly lighter at 18st 12lb (120kg). But the real weight came from the war of words that followed.
What began as a tense stare-down quickly escalated when members of both teams exchanged remarks. Security had to intervene as voices rose and the atmosphere shifted from competitive to confrontational.
A visibly fired‑up Clarke flashed his middle fingers at TKV’s small entourage, sparking fresh verbal exchanges.
“I’ll take this boy to school and beat him up,” the 34-year-old Clarke declared, promising a dominant performance when the pair meet at the Vaillant Arena on Saturday. The bout will be broadcast live on BBC Two.
The rivalry has intensified since their original October 25 date was postponed due to an injury to TKV — a setback Clarke has repeatedly questioned.
TKV, 32, hit back at Clarke’s behaviour, saying: “He’s a funny character. I walked past him in the corridor, didn’t do anything, but when security is around he wants to talk funny. That shows his character.”
Hundreds of fans packed into a hotel function room near East Midlands Airport to watch the weigh‑in, and they were not disappointed. As Clarke exited the stage, he continued taunting from the crowd, shouting: “One round!”
TKV responded immediately: “You carry on nodding your head and I’ll knock you out tomorrow.”
The long‑anticipated showdown now carries even more heat — and all eyes will be on Derby tonight.
