Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Boma Akpore, has shared how a relationship he believed would lead to marriage suddenly collapsed.
Speaking with Chude Jideonwo on a podcast, Boma revealed he had already planned to propose to his partner last August and was even arranging a trip to the US to buy an engagement ring.
However, things fell apart after his partner’s family rejected him over concerns about his public image as a celebrity.
According to him, the relationship was “amazing” despite normal ups and downs, but everything changed when the family stepped in.
Boma said:
“I met someone I really liked and was going to marry… It was perfect until the family got involved and said, ‘This guy? Hell no.’ That collapsed everything.”
He added that being in the public eye exposes celebrities to scrutiny that often affects their personal lives
