In a statement signed by National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the group alleged that the convention was held in defiance of proceedings already before the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

According to the faction, those behind the gathering ignored pending lawsuits and carried out actions “capable of destroying the res”—a legal term referring to the subject matter under judicial consideration.

The group also revealed that the organisers had been served court processes tied to appeals challenging the legitimacy of the convention.

The crisis escalated further after a Federal High Court ruling reportedly granted a rival faction aligned with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike access to the party’s national secretariat.

Describing the judgment as unfavourable, the Turaki-led faction says it has filed an appeal and raised concerns over alleged judicial bias.
