Xherdan Shaqiri has returned to Europe to join his former club Basel. The 32-year-old winger has signed a three-year contract with Basel, where he started out back in 2001.
The Switzerland international spent the last three seasons in Chicago, playing in the Premier League for Liverpool and Stoke.

Shaqiri has also previously played for Lyon, Inter Milan, and Bayern Munich.
“It fills me with pride and I am very happy that I can return to my hometown of FCB (Basel) today,” said Shaqiri.
